Ingredients

  • 1/4 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
  • 1/2 tsp chipotle chili powder
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 small yellow onion, finely minced
  • 1/2 cup red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 tbsp coconut milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Combine all ingredients except the ground beef and BBQ sauce in a large bowl and mix well.
  3. Once everything is well combined, add the ground beef and stir it in with a fork.
  4. Press the mixture into an ungreased loaf pan.
  5. Brush the loaf with the sauce.
  6. Bake uncovered for 75–85 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (or the meat is no longer pink in the center).
  7. Let rest 5 minutes, then slice and serve with raw red cabbage.
